Passengers will welcome promises of more seats

18.03.2010

Anthony Smith, Passenger Focus chief executive, said: “Passengers will welcome news today that their journey is set to become less crowded thanks to promises for new carriages to be introduced in a number of areas over the next few years. Getting a seat is a top priority for passengers and for many this news is long overdue as peak hour services are busy day in and day out.

“The railway is getting increasingly busy and these new carriages will quickly fill up, so more long term investment is needed across Great Britain’s railway.”
